Why is it that the nicest games are always the hardest? Growbox is an apparently easy puzzle, with a tricky twist. You control a shape (square, circle, triangle) and you must collect all the orbs in each level. The orbs are in plain sight, you don't have to search for them, the only problem is that with every orb you pick up you grow bigger. The order in which you pick the orbs is crucial. You might enter a tunnel filled with orbs only to get stuck in it because you got too big. Your shape is also important because there are some barriers that allow only a certain shape to pass. To make the game even harder there are evil orbs that you have to avoid, powerups that make you small for 3 seconds and others that will give you a short boost. All in all, Growbox is a game that will surely put your mind to work, keeping you entertained for a long time.
+ nice concept
+ hard puzzles
+ simple graphics
- there's only one way to solve a level
- mouse controll is not very apropriate
P.S. This game reminds me a bit of Katamari Damacy; the two games have roughly the same gameplay mechanics. Hit the video below and prepare to be mesmerized!
Q: What is this site about? A: At first it held sketches; After that it mutated into "Retro Source - the place you'll find information, images, music and links to all kinds of resources considered to be retro"; And now... It's about games, (indie or flash mostly), gadgets, chiptunes, pixelart...
