The weather clock

When looking at a clock most people expect to see the time. This clock, however, is quite special. It  has numbers all right... and it it tells something, but that's not the time. If you look at it you'll know exactly how to dress if you're about to go out, because it tells the weather. It has two tongues, one to show if it's sunny, cloudy or any kind of weather types and the other one shows the temperature, measured in degrees Celsius. It looks antique and it is quite interesting.

Man trapped in the clock

This clock is one of the best in the world. It's one of the most original clock related ideas I've seen so far. The clock is made of a big wooden box, the size of a human and it has a translucent window where you can read the time. The very weird part is that you can see a blurry man that seems to be hiding inside the clock, drawing lines and erasing them every minute. There is really no one in the clock, the window is just a screen showing a recording of the clock's creator. I can't imagine how he could have the patience to record himself for 24 entire hours...

The Catena Clock

This is a clock that won't really help you know the time. However it's pretty interesting and you could make one yourself out of an old bike chain. It would be nice if someone added another chain to show the minutes...

The clock I can't see

The clock has been for a long time more than a means of knowing the time - it is a piece of art. A good example for this is "The clock I can't see". It is a round ceramic clock filled with red and green circles. Between the circles some numbers are hidden: 12, 3, 6 and 9. It's quite obvious that the colorblind people can't see the numbers. The idea is nice and hopefully no colorblind person will feel offended.

Nixie concrete clock

Clocks have been around us for some time, but never before had anybody decided to make one out of a concrete block with embeded nixie tubes. Daniel Kurth is the artist behind it and he's considering this to go into production. This is one clock you won't want to throw in the morning when the alarm goes off.
