Small Worlds

To be honest, this is the BEST exploration - platformer I've experienced since Knytt Stories. I was skeptic at first thinking that it's just another platformer in a big pixel land, but... I was terribly wrong. Pixels are indeed huge at first, but as you explore the whole world shrinks so it can still fit in the screen - neat concept. The levels are... few, but they're great; I always loved strange world exploration games. Each "world" has it's own atmosphere and it's own very well selected tune.

+ simple gameplay
+ great soundtrack
+ awsome graphics

- on some rare occasions the controls are a bit unresponsive

Graveyard shift

With Halloween drawing near Nitrome has launched a new game. It's a rail-shooter with zombies, angry plants and other weird monsters. You have a gun to kill them all, and sometimes you have to grand safe passage to lost maidens. There are a few other weapons you can use, but they have limited ammo (yes, the sword has limited ammo, the gun doesn't). The graphics are very good, as usually, but the game might feel repetitive and the levels are a little too long for my taste.

+ very nice graphics

- levels are too long
- gameplay mechanics... where?!

Cave Chaos

In almost all platformers there comes a situation when the ground starts to crumble behind you. Cave Chaos has turned this gameplay element into a full game. You play as a mole(rat) and you have to reach the exit before you fall into the abyss. Bats form your path gradually, so there is no way telling what comes next. You must think fast because there are many paths to choose from, some harder and lengthier than others. Big and small boulders will get in your way, mushrooms and powerups help you jump higher and a weird drooling face will pour sticky honey on the floor. There are many other elements, but you'd better find them yourself.

+ alert gameplay
+ it can be played in pair
+ nice graphics and atmosphere

- 20 levels are too few

Nebula

A cute Nitrome game where you help a young star become a red giant. The purpose is to reach all the keys in the level, while collecting stars. There are enemies, destroyable bombs and other goodies and the graphics are simply adorable. The only drawback is the hard to learn control scheme.

+ colorful graphics and nice music
+ a ton of cuteness
+ complex levels

- hellish control scheme
- too few lives
